2020 Army ROTC Hall of Fame Inductees

The following three distinguished alumni will enter the Ohio State Army ROTC Hall of Fame on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

COL Girard Besanceney, Class of ’66

  • Hebron, Ohio
  • Military accomplishments: Chief of Staff for the CG 83d ARCOM
  • Professional achievements: Industrial plant manager/president, and Board of Trustees Chair at Ohio State Newark – was instrumental in establishing ROTC there

LTC George Gamble, Class of  ’79

  • Tampa Bay, Florida
  • Military accomplishments: 32 years in Special Operations and aviation including numerous sensitive missions around the globe
  • Professional achievements: 40-year combined military/civilian career, holds a PhD in Business Administration from Michigan State

COL Jim Leonard, Class of  ’60

  • Beavercreek, Ohio
  • Military accomplishments: Served in Vietnam, NATO and HQ DoD
  • Professional achievements: Retired VP of Battelle Memorial Institute
